Halal Middle Eastern Shawarma
Shawarma Catering — Halal Chicken & Beef Shawarma for DC & NoVA
Warm-spiced chicken and beef shawarma, garlic sauce, pickles, and fresh pita—delivered hot to offices, weddings, and events across the DMV.
Service Overview
Shawarma is the Middle Eastern cousin of doner and gyro—the same vertical-broiler technique, but seasoned with the warmer spice palette of the Levant and the Gulf. Capital Doner Catering's shawarma program was built with input from clients across the DMV's large Middle Eastern, North African, and South Asian communities, and it has become one of our most-ordered menus for corporate events, embassy functions, and family celebrations.
Our chicken shawarma is marinated overnight in a blend of garlic, lemon, allspice, cinnamon, cardamom, and yogurt, then layered onto the vertical spit and roasted until the edges crisp. The beef shawarma uses a heartier spice mix built around cumin, coriander, black pepper, and a touch of clove. Both are carved fresh, either at our kitchen just before delivery or on-site at your event, and paired with the traditional accompaniments: toum garlic sauce, pickled turnips and cucumbers, tahini, fattoush salad, and warm pita or saj bread.
Because every shawarma protein we serve is certified Halal, our shawarma catering is trusted by the DMV's Middle Eastern community, by embassies and diplomatic missions, and by corporate clients that need reliable Halal options for mixed-audience events. We are equally comfortable with a 20-guest office drop-off in Rosslyn and a 400-guest wedding at a Northern Virginia venue.

Frequently asked questions
What is shawarma?+
Shawarma is a Middle Eastern dish of marinated meat—typically chicken or beef—layered onto a vertical rotisserie, slow-roasted, and shaved off in thin slices. It is traditionally served with garlic sauce (toum), tahini, pickles, and pita or saj bread.
Is your shawarma Halal?+
Yes. All chicken and beef shawarma is certified Halal and sourced from vetted DMV suppliers.
How is shawarma different from gyro and doner?+
All three use a vertical rotisserie, but shawarma uses the warmer Middle Eastern spice palette—allspice, cardamom, cinnamon, clove—and is served with garlic sauce and pickles rather than tzatziki or Turkish accompaniments.
Do you offer a shawarma bar?+
Yes. Our build-your-own shawarma bar is one of the most popular catering formats we offer, ideal for weddings and large events.
What sides come with shawarma catering?+
Standard sides include Middle Eastern rice pilaf, fattoush or tabbouleh salad, hummus, warm pita, garlic sauce (toum), tahini, and pickles.
Do you offer vegetarian shawarma alternatives?+
Yes. Falafel and grilled-vegetable skewers are available as vegetarian shawarma-bar alternatives with the same sauces and sides.
Can you cater Ramadan iftars?+
Yes. We cater Ramadan iftars for mosques, MSAs, and private homes throughout the DMV and can accommodate specific serving-time windows.
What is the minimum for shawarma catering?+
Our standard minimum is 15 guests. Individually boxed shawarma meals are available from 10 guests.
How much notice do you need?+
48 hours for platter service and two weeks for shawarma bars, carving stations, and weddings.
